Anne McCaffrey was one of the best and most popular authors in the fantasy/science fiction genre, winning numerous awards, and winning fans around the world.

The first book in the Dragonriders of Pern^® series was published in the UK in 1969, and there have been novels, novellas, and short stories ever since. The books can be read in any order, but Anne McCaffrey "respectfully suggests" they be read in the order of publication.
