Pern, as interpreted for simplicity of roleplaying in this club, is close to the feudal system of Earth. People are bound to their locations of residence and are beholden to their Lords, Masters (crafters) or Weyrleaders. Unless the individual persona specifies otherwise, all ranking personas are elitist and quite aware of their power and responsibility for their beholden people.
It is Turn 37 of the 9th Pass. We never discovered AIVAS so there are no technological artifacts from the Ancients. We have rediscovered the Dolphins and all Dolphineers reside in the Dolphin Hall, beholden to Sonnette's Dawn Hold. All Dragonriders reside in Thread's End Weyr or Ierne Island Weyr and these Weyrs protects the areas shown on the Thread's End Weyr Flight Sector map and the Ierne Island Flight Sector map. Terrain is varied, ranging from tropical rainforest, grasslands, stony wastes, and mountains.
