Physical Description: Anlie is on the thin side; she has had health problems all her life. She has light blond hair and green-blue eyes and is shorter than most women.

Personality: Well adjusted emotionally, she is happy, and self-assured, in spite of her childhood bouts of illness. She tends to get annoyed with people who treat her unkindly.

Life Story: Coming into the world on a night when Thread was falling, Anlie's life did not begin well.

She was born in the back of her family's caravan wagon in the middle of a late evening Threadfall, which may have been a portent for at least the early part of her life. She was a sickly child, prone to more than her share of the typical youngling's bumps and bruises, minor maladies, and infections.

Most of her life was spent with her parents' trading caravan, and she grew to love being outdoors, working with animals, and meeting people at the Holds and Weyrs at which their wagons stopped. Because of her frail health, she spent much of the time with her father, learning a good deal of the business side of trading, rather than on the heavier chores that running a caravan entailed. She proved to have a good business head on her shoulders, even as a youngling, and Tanilin often allowed her to make her own small trading deals as she grew older.

Her second love was animals, and she worked with them as much as she could. At her parents' request -- a request she had no trouble in honouring -- she apprenticed to the Herder Hall; they felt because of her health, she would be safer in a fixed location, rather than being constantly on the road, with all its attendant perils, and away from medical help if she needed it. Anlie earned her Journeywoman's knot at 16 turns.

Her heart was well and truly lost to Terel, Lord Holder at Sonnette's Dawn, in her 18th turn, but, alas, he died shortly after they were married. Surprising no few of the Hold residents, Anlie picked up the reins of Sonnette's Dawn at the tender age of 18 and, with the help and support of the Hold staff, proved to be a competent and well liked Lady Holder. Under her holdership, Sonnette's Dawn has increased in size and reputation over the past turn, becoming noted for its runner and herdbeast stock and for the fine hospitality of its kitchens -- dragonriders on sweep in that area often join hold residents for the nooning meal. She has also had docks built for the Hold on the northern shore near the Black Rock River and has begun a good trade with the North for her stock.

In the latter part of Turn 34 of the Present Pass, Anlie found love for the second time in the form of her steward, Pendal, and the two were married, Anlie formally adopting Pendal's two children, Rydak and Merilee. And on a very foggy morning on the fifteenth day of month eight of the following turn, Anlie gave birth to another daughter, Anilin.

Things went smoothly for the Lady and her Steward, but it was not to last. In Turn 37 of the Present Pass, Pendal transferred to the Northern Continent along with Rydak and Merilee, dissolving the marriage and leaving Anilin with Anlie. Shortly after Pendal left, the Conclave formally approved the dissolution of the marriage. Knowing life always goes on, the Lady Holder is determined to move on and keep Sonnette's Dawn running smoothly as well as raise her daughter.
