Physical Description : Arrol is a short, spindly man with black hair streaked with grey at his temples. He has worrylines on his forehead from Turns of furrowing his brows, although apart from that his face is relatively smooth and youthful. His ever-watchful brown eyes look out to the world from underneath a pair of impressively bushy eyebrows.

Personality : Efficiency is the key word when it comes to describing Arrol. He dislikes any deviation from his schedule, although over the Turns he has learned to be flexible so as to be able to perform his duties for the best of the Hold he manages. He relaxes somewhat when not on duty, and it's not an uncommon occurrence for him to join in with the singing of harpers and other musical Holdfolk at the evening meals.

In his a spare time, Arrol whittles away at odd pieces of wood that the woodcrafters don't need and has been known to create some truly beautiful pieces of carving.

Life Story : Arrol was the third son of a minor holder at the North, with no hope of gaining land from his father, as his elder brothers were far more ambitious than he was. However, his father noticed in him the ability to manage large numbers of people and so he was sent to Telgar Hold to become one of the many support staff of the steward there. Arrol excelled at this task as it appealed to his meticulous nature. It was there that he met his wife, Morag, who was a kitchen worker. Over the space of the next twelve turns they had five children.

When Morag died of a fever in Turn thirty-seven, Arrol transferred south to Sonnette's Dawn Hold with his youngest daughter, Moraro, to become one of the chief assistants to the temporary steward there. In month nine Arrol was surprised when Lady Anlie asked him to be the new Steward, although he was more than ready for the challenges his new position presented.
