Physical Description : Gangly and awkward except when he has a ship's deck under his feet, Birol doesn't feel much at home on land. His blonde hair is worn shaggy and somewhat long, always falling into his face and covering his dark brown eyes. He's all elbows and knees, and still growing.

Personality : Birol is a genial young man, friendly and not at all sullen or reticent. He's the sort of person who helps others with their chores without being asked. He likes being around people in an environment where he can watch them interact and, if he wants to, join in.

Life Story : Birol grew up on the deck of a fishing vessel, literally. Since the time he could make himself useful on board, around the age of 7, he's been out at sea. Sailing is second nature to him and for a very long time his only world was the North Tip Fishing Hold, ships, and the sea. That all changed when he was Searched for Cassimeth and Kiornath's double clutch. After the initial shock, he eagerly accepted, and believes he has a firm chance at Impressing a dragonet -- especially since his mother revealed her cousin is a greenrider at Ista Weyr.
