Physical Description : A slight frame, an inch (or the Pern equivalent thereof) or two shy of six feet, is capped with medium brown hair, straight and short and tapered in the back. B'zene's eyes are hazel, more green than brown ("in deference to Areneth," he'll tell you somberly, but his lip will twitch and there will be a twinkle of laughter in his eyes). He's small and wiry, and his movements reflect a confidence in himself borne of having fought Thread for turns and having survived.

Personality : B'zene is old enough to have settled down from his earlier wild days, when he used to be as active as a green during Threadfall, working hard and playing hard. He's slowed down and is more thoughtful now, having lived through many turns of fighting the silver menace and having reached the realization that man -- even he -- is mortal, and he'd better be proud of his actions today because it's entirely likely he won't have the opportunity to atone for them tomorrow. The change in perspective hasn't made him morose, though. On the contrary, he sees things somewhat as Areneth does -- taking a quiet pleasure in the here and now and in the people who surround him today, letting the slights of others roll off him and not worrying about what will be. His amiable nature and the twinkle in his eye make him easy to be around, and his reliability, whether during Fall or simply carrying out general tasks assigned to him, make him an asset to his wing.

Life Story : B'zene was born at a small cothold in the north, near the base of the Nerat Peninsula. His family migrated south at the beginning of the Pass, and the boy found himself standing on the sands at one of the new Weyrs, Thread's End, within a turn of its establishment. He and Areneth have been serving its Weyrleaders ever since.

B'zene has never taken a weyrmate, having accepted over the turns since his induction into a fighting wing that Thread and the fighting of it would -- and must -- come first in his life. He has many friends but fewer lovers, and the latter he chooses with care, ensuring each understands that there can be no long term commitment.

Dragon's Description : One of the smaller greens ("dainty and petite," B'zene will gently correct you, gazing fondly at his heartmate), Areneth is agile and experienced at fighting Thread.

Dragon's Personality : Areneth is somewhat shy as dragons go. For the most part, she ignores the affairs of humans, taking little interest in them unless they relate directly to her rider. Like B'zene, though, she has confidence in herself and in her abilities to deal with Thread.
