Physical Description : Caledd is a young man of medium height and sturdy build, taking after his father in this regard rather than his mother, Lady Jianna. His hair is a medium brown as are his eyes.

Personality : Though he could laugh with the best, Caledd was always a serious boy, and although he never expected to be given much in the way of authority, he handled what came his way with a sense of grave responsibility, gained, one suspected, from the example of his mother.

Life Story : The middle son of Lady Jianna and her husband Lord Jarredd, Caledd grew up in the north expecting to spend his life as some assistant to his older brother, who had early been named heir to the Hold. His younger brother Tharren had ever wanted only to be a harper and was allowed to apprentice to that craft when he turned 12. In turn 35, when Caledd was sixteen, a new Weyr was established in the southern hemisphere, and with it a brave new Hold, with his mother named acting Lady Holder--he was to become Lord Holder when he came of age. His mother moved south to establish the Hold, and he accompanied her to become familiar with the land and those who would people it.

During turn 37, Lord Jarredd, having remained in the north, was killed in a riding accident, and Caledd's brother Garritt became Lord Holder in the north. It was at this time Caledd confessed to his mother that the idea of himself being Lord over an entire people overwhelmed him, and he returned to the north for a time to study under his brother rather than remain in the south where Jianna always seemed so sure of what needed to be done. Later in the turn Lady Jianna married Master Herder Konnor of Sonnette's Dawn Hold, and somehow Caledd learned without actually having been told that Konnor was Garritt's father.

In the early part of month five of turn 39, Jianna and Konnor moved from Green Ridge grounds to the northern part of Green Ridge lands to begin their own small runner hold, taking with them Master Herders Saris and Donson as well as one of the younger joureywomen. Ready or not, Caledd was named Lord Holder of Green Ridge Hold.
