Physical Description : Calina is slightly taller than average and a little underweight. She has light grey almond-shaped eyes, and dark brown hair which she usually ties back into a high ponytail with a few pieces excluded to fall about her face. Her skin is a very pale brown, and freckles sparingly in sufficient sunlight. She walks quickly, speaks softly and smiles easily.

Personality : Calina determines a large amount of her self-worth from other's responses to her. Because of this, she tries to study hard to gain the approval of her teachers, but is often distracted by the activities of her peers. She is uncomfortable being the centre of attention but likes to be a part of anything and everything.

Life Story : Calina was born at Sonnette's Dawn Hold, the fifth child and third daughter of a herder couple. Her parents had moved to Black Rock River Hold when her mother fell pregnant with their first child, Calina's eldest brother. However, after another son and two daughters had arrived they began to consider relocating to a larger hold where their children would have more opportunities, both social and academic. Finally, hastened by a fifth pregnancy, they decided on the recently established Sonnette's Dawn Hold, and Calina was born a just a few sevendays after their arrival. Calina's younger sister was born two turns later, followed by twin brothers another six turns after that.

Calina began to take an interest in healing at age fourteen, in an attempt to bridge the gap created in her life when the younger of her two older sisters, Cadia, left the hold to work in the infirmary at DolphinCraft Hall. She studied as an apprentice at Sonnette's Dawn Hold for two turns. During this time, an Ierne Island dragonrider visiting Sonnette's Dawn Hold for a gather struck up a friendship with her eldest sister, Camisha. Over the next turn the two kept in contact and quickly fell in love. When they decided to marry, meaning Camisha would be moving to the weyr, Calina took the opportunity to go with her and continue her studies there. So it was that Calina began her third turn as an apprentice healer at Ierne Island Weyr.
