Physical Description: Wisps of silvery tendrils streak Carisus' short, brown hair. That, along with the lines in his face, mark him as older than he really is. His eyes are rather unspecial, hazel in colour, and are set deep in his squarish face. He's not exceptionally tall, nor short, reaching to a clear six feet. Long legs and strong upper body are the results of constant activity, and make it clear that he's not a slacker. His face is tanned from the hot southern sun, and hardened from the pressures of life. Even so, his tone is tendered by fatherhood and recent good fortune. Medium-sized ears are pressed against his head, behind his hair. He has no thread or animal scars, though that doesn't mean he hasn't had his share of run-ins. Thus a couple of very light pale streaks across his cheeks and hands are apparent. His eyesight isn't the best, but other than having to hold hides farther away at times, it doesn't affect him. His hearing is sharp, and it is rumoured that he hears everything that occurs in his Hold.

Personality: Rather straightforward, Cari isn't one to "beat around the bush". To most he seems fairly gruff, but he has an almost hidden softer side. Since his wife's death, he's taken to caring and raising their daughter, Alrisa, and thus has had to develop a strong measure of patience and understanding. Still, he's not one to be taken lightly, as is obvious by his present rank. He's by no means perfect and tends to have an extremely short temper along with a strong push towards achievement.

Life Story:As a young man, Carisus was never one to help out the "little guys". In fact, he was almost what one would call a bully. Youngest of two sons, Carisus was the one always struggling to get to the top, and unfortunately that meant knocking anything that stood in his way. He had a fiery eye and would take every moment to follow his father and learn as much about Holding as possible. However, he soon proved too ambitious. At the early age of seventeen he was sent to a small hold and wedded with another Holder's daughter who he didn't even know from an arranged betrothal. At first disappointed, he didn't realize how important his wife really was to him until the birth of his daughter, Alrisa. It was then that his desire for advancement was placed last to his wife and daughter. For nearly three turns, they lived a contented life in their hold. Sadly however, Alna miscarried. Infection spread through her small form and made her grow weaker and weaker until she passed away during a thunderstorm. Carisus is cursed to always remember how the storm clouds rolled that lonely day...

After that, he and his precious daughter returned to his birth hold where his brother Sempere and two cousins, Zephyre and Julben, drew him into their plans to move to the Southern Contenent and set up a Hold there. In Turn 13, Thread's End Hold was founded with Sempere named by Conclave as Lord Holder.

In turn 35, Sempere was killed in a runner accident and Carisus was confirmed as Lord Holder. During the latter part of turn 36, Carisus married Nanirela, who became Lady Holder after spending a life as a wandering trader. At first their marriage seemed a success, but as months passed, Nanirela realized she could never be content to remain in one place no matter how strong her feelings might be for Carisus, and in the early part of turn 37 the two parted amicably, the marriage annulled by Conclave soon after.

Pet Description and Personality: Flashes of dark golden marks thread down and over Kouda's hide and her long wings often shimmer under the sun. She's several turns old, her egg being a present for Carisus after the death of his wife in hopes of raising his spirit. Even though she is full grown, she's still extremely small for a gold, being almost smaller than most bronzes her age and older. Most of her size and length comes from her long wings and snaking tail. Her eyes are normally a flash of deep red, never contented and always angry at something. She's rather spoiled and tends to cling to her "pet" everywhere, and even sleeps on his stomach when he's asleep in bed. She lets few near Carisus without at least a hiss or flash of her tiny fangs. She is almost always found with her tail wrapped tightly around Carisus' neck, and digging her claws into his shoulder pad. Her creamy coloured talons may not look dangerous, but they are painful and thus Cari has learned his lesson many a time.

Though she has a temper to match her owner's, she is also well trained. Along with pampering her, Carisus has taught her how to retrieve and send messages, how to find things, and many more useful tricks of the trade.
