Physical Description: Carmac is tall, about 6 feet, with a stocky build. His turns as Captain have given him a bow legged appearance that makes him seem shorter than he really is. He has extremely thick white hair and the bluest eyes ever seen. His skin is tanned a deep brown and weathered from exposure to the sun and sea. When he smiles, it lights up his whole face.

Personality: Carmac is a well organised and stable person. He has a great sense of humour, but is no nonsense when it comes to work. He's wise and sees everything that's going on around him. He also tends to give advice whether its asked for or not. He sees all the people in the Weyr as his children and treats them accordingly.

Life Story: Carmac had a happy childhood. His parents began taking him out on their ship as soon as he was born, and he grew up loving the sea. When he was eighteen, his father died suddenly, leaving him the ship. His mother died a few turns later, never meeting the woman Carmac fell in love and eventually married. Jevanne was everything Carmac had dreamed of in a woman and wife. Together, they sailed the seas and raised their son, Jevac. When Jevanne was killed in a violent storm at sea, Carmac blamed himself and almost grieved to death. The sea lost its attraction for him. Without his beloved, he no longer wanted to sail. So two turns after her death, he turned the ship over to his son and daughter-in-law and became the 'Headwoman' at Ierne Island Weyr. It has given new meaning to his life, and he knows he's needed again.
