Physical Description : Donalare is of average height with mid-brown hair and eyes. He's usually tanned, because he prefers to be out and about wherever possible. He dresses as well as he can afford, favouring bright colours. His fingers are long and deft, as befits a harper, and his voice is a clear, pleasant tenor.

Personality : Donalare has a lively sense of humour, a quick mind, and a heart that sees friends everywhere. In his time at Ierne Island Weyr, he's been posted as a teacher for the younger children, and the works suits his open, friendly nature and varied interests - as well as calling on him to develop his organisational abilities, which have lain dormant until now. Highly intelligent, he's something of a polymath, with a love of and skill at painting, teaching and music. He's a gifted mimic as well, able to rattle off all sorts of accents from highlands herder to Lord Holder, much to the amusement of his charges. If he has a failing it's that he's a 'jack of all trades, master of none'; if he'd concentrate on voice or art or instrument, he'd progress rapidly, but no one thing holds his attention for long. This may actually have contributed to his success as a teacher of children; if he's getting bored, so are they, and he knows when to move on to other subjects.

Life Story : From his youngest days, there was never any doubt that Donalare would attend Harper Hall. Growing up at Fort as he did, he was usually trying to find ways to sneak into the Hall anyway, as he was endlessly fascinated by the goings-on there. As soon as he was permitted to attend, he threw himself into it wholeheartedly, trying out all facets of the craft and succeeding at most, except the covert arts; he and his instructors quickly realised there wasn't much point trying to get Donalare to do anything covert. He's just no good at it. Instead, he concentrated on music, both vocal and instrumental, and dabbled as much as he could in art. When he walked the tables, he was sent first of all to a small hold in Tillek, where he discovered a real enjoyment in teaching. For his second posting, he was sent to Ierne Island Weyr, where he was searched; presented to Sinevath's first clutch at the Weyr, he impressed blue Pinilth.
