Physical Description : D'zel's expressive eyes are klah brown and set deep in his lean face. His messy light red hair is kept short, though he does possess bangs that upon occasion hang in his eyes, giving him a just-out-of-the-weyr look. He bares a jagged scar just near his right eye, which only adds to his somewhat rakish look. He has a wiry build and tanned skin that oddly suits his 6 foot frame.

Personality : D'zel has often been viewed by those who work with him as quiet and perhaps entirely too serious, but those who have interacted with him in his off hours know he's adventurous and has a wry sense of humor. He's always willing do to a favor for a friend if it's within his power. D'zel fell in love when he was young, but in the years after her death, he does not yet feel he could give another woman the attention she deserves, and thus shys away from serious relationships. He does enjoy the occasional liaison , and remains of terms of friendship with many of those he as been with in the past.

Life Story : D'zel was born at Southern Weyr. Since his father died before his birth and his mother when he had 5 turns, he never really formed a great attachment to either of them. Like many a weyrchild, he grew up under the careful eye of the weyrfolk who saw to his needs and rearing. At 15 turns, he stood on the hatching sands and, in turn, Impressed the brown Mebrith who filled whatever void he might have had in his heart for lack of close family. Young man and dragon are well suited for the Southern Continent, and they both enjoy exploring the wilderness, thus they often volunteer for exploration parties sent to distance locations. When he was younger, he fell in love with a greenrider named Riktya . Not long after they had decided to become weyrmates, however, she grew ill, and died only a few days later.

The two relocated to Irene Island Weyr for a time and spent a few turns there. The brownrider was promoted to the position of Wingsecond only recently, and the promotion required relocation. D'zel, wishing to leave Irene Island for reasons of his own, gladly accepted the position and is now attempting to settle into Threads End Weyr and his newly found responsibilities.

Dragon's Description : Mebrith might be a bit smaller than most browns, but it pays off by giving him more agility in the air than the other browns. A scar from a wherry's claw that he got during a hunt makes him easy to identify. His muscles are rock-hard from constant exercise, and his brown hide stretches taut against his wiry frame.

Dragon's Personality : Like his rider, Mebrith has a daring sense of adventure, which often translates into his bold style and approach towards fighting Thread in the air. Mebrith does have a bit more sense when it comes to risk though than his rider does, and if he thinks something will get D'zel hurt, he will animatedly disagree with his rider with the attitude of "dragon knows best" though, with D'zel's usually level head, this hasn't happened many times. Mebrith has no real attachment to anyone but his rider, though he is certainly fond of D'zel's firelizard, Bip.

Pet Description and Personality: She's extremely nervous and fluttery but surprisingly obedient for a green flit. She'll only obey a select few, including those of high rank and D'zel. While she does have a tendency to flirt with other flits, she hasn't caused D'zel any trouble because of it, at least not yet anyway.
