Physical Description : H'mat is dark-haired, of medium height. A few scars, combined with the wrinkles on his face, attest not only to the fact that he's been fighting Thread longer than some dragonriders have been alive, but that he's good at it as well.

Personality : Once pulled out of "retirement" from the Lower Flights to serve as Head Wing's wingsecond, H'mat likes playing mentor to the younger riders. Currently serving as wingsecond for Centre Flight, Mid Wing, he grumbles about being pestered, but he secretly enjoys their company. He knows when to be heard and when he should step back and let others take charge.

Life Story : H'mat was a journeyman close (another Turn or so) to making Master when he managed to get Searched and Impress. He's been a dragonrider so long few people realize that many of the pieces in his weyr are his own work.

Dragon's Description : While still a weyrling, H'mat often teased Geranth about his dark brown hide, saying that if he rolled in the mud, no one would ever be able to tell the difference. The hide is a little faded now and bears a few scars, but not many people can tell at first glance.

Dragon's Personality : Like his rider Geranth is patient and considerate. He and his rider know each other so well he often acts before H'mat asks.
