Physical Description : I'del is of average height with a tanned, lean body. His black hair over his brown eyes is always trimmed neatly, and it is rare to see him in anything but clothes that look like they were pulled fresh from the washwomen's presses. His attractive appearance is dampened significantly by the almost constant scowl on his face. He doesn't smile often, and when he does, his smile has more the quality of a rather private smirk than a social gesture.

Personality : The bluerider appears withdrawn and private most of the time. He doesn't evade company, but it is usually quick to notice that he isn't a great fan of social interaction. His humor, if he deigns to share it, is more on the sarcastic side. He likes a good wine and a good game of dragonpoker every now and then. Usually not at a loss for a cynical remark, I'del grows uncomfortable and silent like a fish whenever confronted with the presence of a beautiful woman.

Life Story : Irendel's parents, both vintners, came South from Tillek to help with the establishment of Thread's End Hold when he was a toddler of three turns. He early on became fascinated with the effect of wine on the grown-ups and soon learned to amuse his friends with his impersonations of drunken people. Master Showanter caught him at some point doing what had to be an imitation of himself and was not amused. As if to punish the boy for his audaciousness, he talked his parents into apprenticing him to the vintner craft. Irendel turned out to be an attentive learner, not finding any fault in the prospect of becoming a vintner, and soon developing an uncanny ability to avoid his master's temper tantrums.

Shortly before his 16th birthingday, Irendel was Searched for a clutch on the sands of Thread's End Weyr. Skeptical at first, the young man accepted the Search as he felt was his duty and did his parents' proud by impressing a blue dragonet. When Ierne Island Weyr was opened in Turn 35, I'del and blue Sloth transferred to the new Weyr.

Dragon's Personality : His favorite pastime is napping on the heights, and he can be downright lazy. He has his rider's sense of duty though and never complains about work that has to be done, but only when his rider is asking for a favor.
