Writing Status : ONPC
Age : 27
Gender : Male
Rank/Craft : Bluerider/Apprentice Vintner
Residence : Ierne Island Weyr
Physical Description : J’virin is a youthful looking man with thick dark hair that he often has to push back to keep out of his dark blue eyes. He is tall, long-limbed with a pleasing muscular physique that has come about due to his turn of dragonriding. His long face is well formed, with a relatively square jaw and a long, straight nose giving the impression he was carved from a block of stone by a stonecrafter’s chisel.Being a generally cheerful person, J’virin’s wide lips are often turned up into a smile that shows his even white teeth.
Personality : Life as a dragonrider has made a once serious young boy into a young man who lives for today and tries not to worry what tomorrow brings. J’virin follows orders and is very serious about his duty as a dragonrider but once off duty he is a rather sociable person and is not known to be constrained by tradition. One of J’virin’s greatest hobbies, seeing as it is no longer his profession, is to keep updated with the latest wines that the Pernese vintners produce and his friends who work in the vineyards often keep him updated with each Turn’s produce. J’virin’s friends, knowing the bluerider’s gift for picking the right wine for the occasion, often put his knowledge to good use.
A friendly sort, J’virin is never without conversation at a gathering but he does prefer to spend time with those friends he considers close than a whole host of people he does not know.
Life Story : Jadvirin grew up on a small farming cothold beholden to Tillek Hold, the youngest of five brothers with only a sister younger than him. Growing up, his father taught him much about the proper care for crops and it seemed that out of all the brothers Jadvirin seemed to have the greatest success with farming and his father would often remark that it seemed his youngest son had been born to till the soil. Yet for all his gift, it seemed Jadvirin did not want to till his father’s fields. He wanted to learn the specialised Vintnercraft and eventually set up his own cothold to grow wine grapes. Jadvirin knew that with time and patience he and his descendants could make a wine that rivalled those from Benden Hold. His father, knowing that the elder for boys would be able to run the cothold and make it prosperous, gave his full blessing when Jadvirin came of age to be apprenticed to a craft. Jadvirin was a very driven young apprentice and earned himself a reputation for being immensely serious and solely focused on his work. There were whispers by his second Turn that he might complete his apprenticeship by the end of his third Turn but that was not to be.
A dragon came on Search and, though Jadvirin was very reluctant to leave his work behind, he eventually agreed to stand on the Sands, so long as he could return to the crafthall if he did not Impress. It was just his luck, then, that his first time on the Sands Jadrivin was found by little blue Siornth and he became J’virin.
J’virin applied his previous work ethic to his weyrling training, despite Siornth’s complaints that he just wanted to have fun. It was not until his first Threadfall, when one of his classmates was scored right before his eyes, that J’virin finally understood why dragonriders tended to live day by day.
Seeking new surroundings that were not tainted by the memories of lost friends, J’virin was part of the first wave of inhabitants to the new Weyr at Ierne Island. There he has come into his own as a wingrider and has recently found a new, if not entirely expected, love.
Dragon's Name : Siornth
Dragon's Colour : Blue
Dragon's Age : 11
Sire/Dam : Transfer
Rider's Age at Impression : 16
Physical Dragon : Siornth is an average sized blue who is a uniform royal blue in colour. While he has single threadscore scars all over his body, the lack of any major scarring is a testament to the ability of both Siornth and his rider to be extra vigilant during Fall.
Dragon's Personality:Siornth is a very calm blue who is always willing to offer what he deems to be sage advice to his rider and other dragons. He generally likes anyone who had not angered or insulted his rider and has a particular soft spot for children. J’virin has often questioned his blue’s lack of participation in green flights to which Siornth replies he only participates when he feels the need as he doesn’t see the point of showing off.
