Physical Description : K'laine is a big man, once very powerful, and still quite robust. He has problems with arthritis from time to time, which causes him sometimes to limp. He has brown eyes and a fairly dark complection. His thick shock of white hair and strong features make him greatly pursued by hold widows and aunties, much to his amusement.

Personality : K'laine is a contented man, happy to still be alive after more than 30 turns of fighting thread. He is glad he can still be of service to Pern, even though he and his dragon are not able to continue to fly threadfall.

Life Story : K'laine grew up in the north, impressed at Benden, and then transferred to Thread's End Weyr when it was formed. On his retirement in turn 38, he chose to serve as watchrider at Green Ridge Hold, realizing how much he had missed the changing of the seasons he had experienced as a youth in the north.

Dragon's Personality:Rubith, like his rider, is rarely in a bad mood, and is eager to fly wherever they may be needed, although in his willingness to serve, he sometimes forgets the limitations of his elderly dragon body.
