Physical Description : Krahn is around 6' tall and quite thin except for his small paunch which hangs over the waist of his trousers. His once jet black hair is now liberally shot through with grey and is always untidy. Occasionally Krahn slicks it back with oil; he thinks it looks better like that. He has dark blue eyes, a prominent beaky nose and bandy legs that he has always been very self conscious about.

Personality : Although he is deadly serious about his cooking, Krahn is a fun loving, easy going fellow who enjoys a good jug of beer as often as possible. He has a pleasant singing voice and fancies himself as a bit of a harper; it's not unusual for him to burst into song while working in the kitchen - particularly if he has just indulged in a good jug of beer.

Life Story : Krahn was born in Lemos and spent most of his young life working as an assistant cook for a minehold in north Lemos. He later took up the position of cook with a logging cothold in the Lemos forests. It was here that he met his wife, Deanid, the daughter of a forester. They were espoused and had two children. The eldest, a son named Kranid now 16 turns old, apprenticed as a woodsmith. Their daughter, Deahn 14 turns old, has quite an eye for the boys. Krahn and Deanid moved south with the hope of giving their children better opportunities. They originally settled at Southern Hold but later moved to the Woodcraft Hall. Deanid works as assistant cook to Krahn in the Hall's kitchen. Together they make the kitchen an interesting and amusing place to work; but the fun really starts after Deanid has a few drinks. Then Deanid, giggling incessantly, tries to sing along with Krahn. But her singing voice is terrible, and she drives her husband crazy with her off-key warbling.
