Persona : Mariele
Writing Status : PC/Active
Age : 16
Gender : Female
Rank/Craft : Apprentice Weaver
Residence : Green Ridge Hold
Physical Description : Of average height, Mariele has only in the last turn or so started to fill in with curves that befit a woman coming into age. She seems to have been a late bloomer compared to her friends, but lately she has started to catch the eye of males around her. Long brown hair shimmers in the sun with golden red highlights. Her eyes are a startingly shade of green, much like well aged jade and are framed by long, dark lashes. Her smile brings out a dimple in her cheek, her lips are full, her cheeks naturally flushed pink. She holds herself well, and this seems to make her taller than she really is. Her legs are long, her fingers supple and have been remarked upon by harpers as idea for playing instruments.
Personality : Mariele isn't shy, but she does like to listen. She tries to give advice that will help others with any trials that they might face. She loves people and enjoys socialising. She makes friends easily, yet at the same time she has very few who are what she would consider very close to her.
There is a calm assurance about her. That isn't to say she plays herself up, but she seems comfortable with herself as much as she is with others. She tries her best to be tactful and has on more than one occasion acted as mediator between conflicted parties.
Extremely creative, Mariele has found various outlets to express her creativity. At the same time, she is also extremely orderly. Mariele likes to have a place for everything and have everything in its place. She is also a planner and when things are moved around or don't necessarily go as planned, this can cause her some agitation.
Life Story : Born and raised and Thread's End Hold, Mariele is the daughter of a Beastcrafter and a Harper. Her life has been rather mundane. The only deep sadness she ever really experienced was when she was ten and her grandfather died of a heart attack. She grew up a normal, happy and healthy child, not prone to sickness. At an early age, both parents encouraged Mariele to pursue their craft. She seemed to have an affinity for both animals and music, but her real talent seemed to come out with her grandmother.
At one time, Mariele's grandmother, Eleana, was a weaver, but left the craft to simply take care of her family. As soon as Mariele was old enough to pick up scraps, Mariele began to show her different ways to put them together. When the child was old enough to take up a needle and thread without hurting herself, she taught Marele how to sew. Over the turns, Mariele learned much about quilting, the names of the various blocks and patterns and how to put them together. She and her grandmother would often sit together in the evenings talking and quilting. Despite her parents gentle efforts to encourage her into one of their crafts, Mariele was drawn to the Weaver craft. Her parents transferred to Green Ridge hold when it was founded and she just after their arrival.
While Mariele enjoys all the various aspects of the weaver craft from dyeing to making tapestries, she has always gone back to quilting as her love of loves. From time to time, she sells her work, putting marks away to buy more fabric, thread, needles and any other decorative items she might wish to use in her smaller, non-utilitarian quilts.
