Physical Description : Maylin is a short woman with brown hair that has lighter highlights throughout it, she also has soft green eyes. Maylin isn't a big woman but she isn't small either. She has been known to pull Apprentices apart during a fight, so everyone knows that she can hold her own.

Personality : Maylin is dedicated to her work and loves her Apprentices. She is a loving mother and wife. She is always good for a smile or a hug, but makes sure that there is order around her. Usually the newer Apprentices come to her for comfort or whenever there is a problem.

Life Story : Born in the North, Maylin grew up in the Seacraft Hall in Nerat. She was one of only two children, she was younger than her sister. Working in the kitchens and dining hall, she made it known she would not be pushed around by the Apprentices even if they were older than her. All of the Journeymen had accepted this and several had tried to win her heart but all failed. Maylin met Darr on one of the ships in the harbor, he had just acquired his Journeymen knots when they began spending time with each other. At the age of eighteen, the two married. Both were overjoyed when she had gotten pregnant a Turn later with their first son, Gydeon. Maylin was a loving mother and a devoted wife; the pair couldn t have been happier. As Gydeon grew older, the bond between mother and son grew and Maylin understood her son and supported his decisions. They had talked frequently about what craft he would join but he "never knew." While secretly Maylin wanted her son to become a Dolphineer, Darr made it quiet obvious that he wanted his son to become an Apprentice on his ship. Gydeon did go on the ship with his father much of the time, but he would not accept an Apprenticeship. He only wanted to work; if he realized what craft he wanted to join he would be able to leave wtihout feeling guilty for hurting his father. Maylin realized that her son would never be "truly" interested in just the SeaCraft, so one night she asked her son if he would go to the Dolphin Hall with her. He happily accepted, tired of the life at the Seacraft Hall. After an argument wtih Darr, he too agreed to transfer south to the Hall where a ship like his "Early Dawn" would be needed. Less than a month later, they all had transferred down to the Dolphin Hall. Maylin began working in the kitchens where she seemed to feel at home, Gydeon alternated working wtih his mother in the kitchens and going out on trips with his father. He never brought up anything about his Apprenticeship, though it was never very far from his mind.
