Physical Description : At 5'8" O'restes is far from the tallest riders in the Weyr, but the fact has never bothered him; after all, he rides the best bronze on all Pern. He has hazel eyes and a blondish hair that he keeps short enough to fit comfortably under a riding helmet. While physically fit, O'restes' body sports no enormous muscles, and you could hardly call him handsome by any standard. So why does he never seem to lack in bed partners? No one knows, except maybe his bronze...

Personality : Think of an egoisticial, bronzeriding womanizer... However, O'restes has no illusions of his own abilities and although he believes he should be leading a Wing, he is -- for now -- content to be a Wingsecond. Believing that dragonriders serve the population of Pern and not the other way around, as well that anyone with a rank in the Weyr is responsible for helping those below oneself in case they need help, makes O'restes actually quite an easy person to approach with any manner of problem.

Life Story : O'restes was ten Turns old when Thread's End Weyr was established, and he moved there with his family; they were among the first Weyrfolk to populate the fledgling Weyr's Lower Caverns. Eager to Impress, like most Weyrbred lads, O'restes stood the sands for the first time when he was just 14 Turns old, but wasn't too disappointed to fail, as he had been witnessing the numerous attempts of others since he was a toddler and knew that people rarely found their dragon the first time round.

Turns passed, and O'restes grew up, easily blending into the crowds of people now living in Thread's End. Each Turn he chose to stand the sands for just one Hatching - although making sure he was always available among the spectators, in case his very own dragon happened to be one of the hatchlings -- and on his fourth time on the sands, a little, healthy bronze chose him from among the group of youngsters, making his new bondmate O'restes, rider of bronze Magytuth.

As a Weyrbred O'restes has never had difficulties with the demands that dragonriding sets on one's personal life and human relationships. He lets it be commonly known that while he is not going to settle down with any one woman, he also will spurn none. Oddly enough, he hasn't earned a bad reputation of being a womanizer, but mostly probably because it is a case of the women coming to him, instead of him actively wooing them. This is not to say that O'restes hasn't had his flings occasionally, but they never last.

Having fathered at least five weyrbrats, O'restes shows little interest in his progeny, thinking that they are better off without his interference and free to do just as they wish with their lives.

Dragon's Description : Freshly-oiled hide gleaming impressively in the sun is Magytuth's favourite form of existence and he will go to almost any lengths of extortion to have his rider keep it that way. Being rather small for a bronze has never bothered Magytuth, even though he has never won a gold's mating flight -- after all, being smaller gives an advantage in green flights...

Dragon's Personality : Somewhat vain, Magytuth easily believes his rider whenever O'restes tells him that he is the best bronze on all Pern. He will not tolerate any slander towards his rider and in disagreements will quickly take the side of whoever he likes best at the moment.
