Physical Description : Querida is fairly short and curvy, with blonde hair framing her round face. Her kind smile and her pudgy figure give her a rather motherly appearance that makes her the favorite healer of most of the Weyr's children.

Personality : The Journeywoman is always bustling about and busy somewhere, and she can be somewhat nosy and likes to gossip with the other Healers. She is usually pretty easy-going, though experience has made her rather cautious when it comes to dealing with Master Alysian. Constantly trying to keep the work climate on an at least bearable level, she's always willing to help other people to sneak around the demanding Master if necessary and possible.

Life Story : Born to a vintner and a cook on the terraces of Tillek Hold, Querida had an overall carefree childhood. She learned early to ignore other children's teasing remarks about her plumpness that was quickly developing due to her parents' well-meant intentions to put only the best food available on the table for their children. Her friendly and easy-going nature, and the small bags full of sweets and other treats she often carried with her, soon made her popular with the other Hold brats.

By the time most of her friends apprenticed to different crafts, Querida reluctantly started to think about what she wanted to do with her life. Her mother tried to coax her into cooking, but after a few private lessons the young girl felt that her skills would never be able to satisfy her querulous mother and gave up. She tried to convince the Hold's Harpers of her singing abilities, but that attempt didn't turn out as successful as she had hoped either. Her indecisiveness suddenly found an end when one of her siblings got injured and had to be taken to the Healers. Querida was immediately fascinated by the idea to learn how to ease pain and care for sick and injured people.

The Hold's Healers happily allowed her to apprentice, seeing the dedication with which she followed the chosen path. With her kind and caring nature, Querida quickly became the social center of the infirmary. She felt almost sorry as she was promoted to Journeywoman and hesitated to leave her friends and her parents' home. But finally she decided to put her new rank to use and accept a transfer to the newly established Weyr on Ierne Island.

After serving in the Weyr infirmary for almost two turns, Querida was completely taken by surprise when she was Searched for queen Aometh's clutch.
