Physical Description : Raivan has dark brown eyes, long curly black hair and brown skin. Raivan tends to wear his hair tied back at the nape of his neck when he is painting, but the rest of the time, he lets it hang loose. He is about 6' tall and has a lean, muscular build that women seem to love.

Personality : He is quiet, soft-spoken and rarely raises his voice, even in anger. Raivan does say what he means and will back it up if necessary. He has a quiet sense of humor and is not the type of person to play pranks or be cruel to people. Raivan always gives his best and expects it in return from others. He can fit in with any crowd effortlessly and quickly makes friends with his infectious and free-spirited ways. Despite his age, Raivan is mature and level headed most of the time, but on rare occasions, he can show his darker side.

Life Story : Born in Igen's lower caverns to Vanyan and Raila who had become holdless, by no fault of their own, Raivan grew up with his two older brothers and three younger sisters. When at the age of five, Raivan began to show quite the skill for artistry; his parents began to work even harder to earn the extra marks needed to send him to the Harper Hall.

At the age of twelve, Raivan made his trip to the Harper Hall and studied all forms of painting and drawing. He excelled rapidly, devouring everything he was taught and constantly wanting to learn more. While training, Raivan also learned to develop a nice tenor singing voice as well as play drums and the guitar. Raivan did well in the drum area, but will be the first to admit his guitar playing is passable at best.

After making Journeyman, Raivan took to travelling to every Hold and Weyr that he possibly could to increase his worldly experiences. Raivan made a variety of portraits and landscape paintings wherever he went. He also made a decent amount of marks along the way and always sent a portion to his parents. Raivan believes that it is the least he can do for all of their support and the efforts that they put into helping him achieve his goals. His family has always been very close and loving despite their hardships, and he takes every opportunity to visit them when he can.

During his journeys, he was offered long term positions at some of the Weyrs and Holds that he had visited, but turned them down. However, Raivan did spend two Turns at High Reaches, during which time he was a devoted weyrmate to greenrider Sarjhanka. They both transferred away to separate places, but remained friends and stay in touch.

After a short time at the Woodcraft Hall, Raivan was called back to Thread's End Harper Hall for new assignments.

Pet's Description : Xoxo is a large, deep bronze firelizard who is evenly colored. He is thickly built but fast in the air for his bulk. He is well behaved and trained by Raivan to complete several useful tasks. When he is off playing, he will flirt with any female firelizard (or otherwise) that he may encounter.

Xoxo is very affectionate and friendly in nature, but can be too curious for his own well-being, and get himself into trouble. He has a keen interest in Raivan's life and duties, and he seems to take pleasure in being Raivan's eyes and ears. Xoxo is an excellent spy when put to the task. He also has a habit of voicing his opinion in any conversation, apparently oblivious to the fact that no one can understand a cheep he says.
