Persona : Regey
Writing Status : NPC/Free
Age : 19
Gender : Male
Rank/Craft : Candidate/Apprentice Beastcrafter
Residence : TEW
Physical Description : Born: 7th Month, 8th Day. Regey is a fine figure of a young man. He stands a good 6 feet from the ground and sports broad shoulders that tell of the long and productive work of tending to runners and herdbeasts. Regey has a nice build that seems to be about a little more than the average of other young adults his age, but is also untroubled by those unsightly outward bulging muscles that he gladly did not inherit from his father's side of the family. His skin is a healthy bronze from working in the sun, unmarred by any freckles. His eyes are a light brown that lean towards a sort of rust color though they have a tendency to appear closer to an earthy shade whenever he might be dressed in darker clothing. His hair is a dark chestnut brown, which he keeps cropped short, preferring to not be burdened my the task of taking care of longer hair. His facial features aren't overly distinctive, but do have a bit of sharpness to them. His jaw is a bit rounded rather than a point and adorned with a small cleft with a hint of facial hair that he keeps shaved. All in all, Regey seems to have the whole 'tall, dark, and handsome' look working for him.
Personality : Though Regey has his reflective moments, he really seems to have a bold personality. He was born to be a leader to his peers and a skilled problem solver, and has no problem with taking orders from those above him. He has a high respect for authority to say the least. He also takes any position he's been placed in with the utmost seriousness. Jeopardize his social standing? Not in a million turns. Regey also knows that there is a time and a place for having fun and if he's been free to do as he wishes, then by Faranth, he will! He just wants to get along with as many people as he can and has a good attitude about most things, making him easy to talk to. Regey tries to keep his faults hidden and would even like to pretend they're not even there, but from being in wide open spaces for a majority of his life, Regey has an awful fear of becoming trapped. He can't stand to be locked in a room, or be in a crowded place with no way out. Maybe that's why being a rider and having the chance to be outside during Threadfall seemed like a reasonable thing. Regey also has the tendency to talk in his sleep. It's a source of amusement for some and annoyance for others, mostly because he's not particularly quiet about it either.
Life Story : Regey was raised in a fairly traditional setting when growing up at Thread's End Hold. You did what you were told, when you were told, and you always respected the Weyr. Always. His own father had stood as a candidate when he was younger, but returned back to beastcrafting when he failed to Impress and became to old to Stand. When he returned to the more traditional life, he met Regey's mother, a sweet kitchen worker, and the two were soon married.
For all the sad childhood stories that seem to float through the Weyr, Regey is lucky to claim a very peaceful and happy childhood. However, it was certainly far from boring. He's broken his arm more than once from being thrown from a runner, and even received a few sore ribs when wandering too close to a herdbeast's hindquarters. Nonetheless, Regey delighted in his father's craft and probably would have lived out his life as a beastcrafter had he not been Searched. The thought of life at the Weyr was also intriguing, because he'd heard about so many things that were permitted and accepted as normal in everyday Weyrlife, that would never have been allowed back at home. No doubt he plans to take advantage of these freedoms as soon as possible like any normal young man would.
