Physical Description : Rochan is of average height and somewhat heavy-set, the result of a combination of broad and strong build and his enjoyment of good food and wine. He is red-haired and has a smattering of freckles across his face. His eyes are brown and his hair is just long enough that he needs to tie it back to keep it out of the way.

Personality : In general, Rochan is a cheerful sort. He enjoys teaching children - a large part of his duties at the Hold - and playing for others' enjoyment, though has less patience with or liking of the intricacies and conflict of adjudication.

He gravitates to contentment, preferring smooth running and lack of conflict. When something annoys or upsets him, he keeps it to himself, by and large, only talking with those closest to him about it.

Life Story : Rochan is weyrbred, though with no rider blood in him. He grew up in Fort Weyr, attending harper classes as usual, working at chores when needed and dodging them when he could - a usual lower caverns upbringing. He showed some talent with stringed instruments (gitar and lap harp in particular) and singing, and took up an apprenticeship at Harper Hall.

While there, he met another apprentice harper named Iveran and the two became close. Where possible, they tried to arrange journeyman assignments together and, when Iveran took hold at Sonnette's Dawn, the new Lord Holder requested that Rochan be assigned to the Hold as well.

Since arriving, Rochan has settled in well. The only problem is that Iveran refuses to acknowledge their relationship; it remains unconfirmed, although they don't work too hard at hiding it. Rochan wishes that Iveran would confirm it, and let the chips fall where they may.
