Physical Description : She is tall and lean at 5'8. She has narrow green eyes and red hair in a pageboy cut. She has a star-shaped birthmark at her right temple which she had inherited from her father. When she wears her riding gear, she is occasionally mistaken for a boy.

Personality : Silyssina likes to have her own way. That trait lessened when she had Impressed, but it still appears now and then. She likes to please people, especially with her voice. She is moody; but her smile is a great award for tolerating her defects. She is a good confidante and listener.

Life Story : Her father is Ph'ran, rider of brown Skyloth; and her mother is Journeyman Harper, Milikina. They agreed that Silyssina would be weyrbred because Milikina had not been assigned to a place at the time. She enjoyed traveling to the many holds and halls. In fact, she had been weyrbred herself and didn't have any reason to think of raising her daughter in a different way. She had noticed a close bond developing between Ph'ran and the baby which made her reluctant to separate them. She only admitted to herself how it eased her mind to travel without carrying a baby with her.

However when she became older, Silyssina insisted on accompanying her mother. As much as she admired the dragons of the Weyr and loved Skyloth, her father's brown, Silyssina wanted to be a harper. But to please her father, Silyssina tried to Impress a few times without any success until Ph'ran agreed to let her train as a harper.

Yet to Silyssina and her parents' surprise, Silyssina was searched in the middle of her apprenticeship and Impressed the green, Jalynth at the hatching grounds. At that moment, Silyssina couldn't imagine why she had wanted to be harper instead of the lifemate to the small precious green, Jalynth.

Dragon's Description : She is one of the smallest greens of the Weyr. The tip of her tail is disfigured from a thread injury she had in her first threadfall.

Dragon's Personality : Jalynth tends to be proud of her injury. She is more outgoing and amiable than Silyssina. She enjoys the times she and her lifemate spend together on Silyssina's music, with or without Milikina. She considers it a compliment when Silyssina is requested to sing at gathers.

Jalynth is prejudiced against the queen dragons who snub Skyloth during mating flights. She has been known to be reprimanded by bronze dragons, including Skyloth and especially Tregarth, F'len's bronze, for her lack of respect.

But during threadfall, Jalynth obeys her queen and takes her mission to fight thread very seriously.
