Physical Description : Talenda has long, dark hair and light blue eyes. No one is entirely certain how she keeps her hair swept up away from her face and neck with only two combs, but she does so with apparent ease. She is of average height, but her right leg has been twisted and deformed since birth. As a result, she walks with a pronounced limp, but that does not detract from her air of confidence and authority. Her long-fingered hands can often be found holding a slate and charcoal stick, as her work is never far from her mind. Her skin is neither fair nor dark, and is clear of blemishes. Her nose is a touch small and her chin somewhat more prominent, lending her a determined expression at all times, but she has her fair share of admirers.

Emotional Description : Raised as one of many daughters in a northern hold, Talenda found herself naturally drawn to the organization and administration of goods. She has a photographic memory, and can always remember the last place she saw something - whether it is a rider's missing pair of flying goggles or a bolt of finely woven wool in healer green. She is open and cheerful, but often distracted by passing concerns. She has just enough confidence to deal with an outraged bronzerider and just enough tact to flatter the most disgruntled trader. In short, she is the perfect 'first mate' to Headman Carmac's 'captain'.

Life Story : Talenda was born on the northern continent, daughter of a minor holder under Fort Hold. When the Southern Continent was opened to northern settlers, she came south with her three older brothers. The latter each claimed holds under Southern, but Talenda stayed at Southern Hold, the challenge of organizing such a large group of people being very appealing. Next, she served for a time at Southern Weyr, and then transferred to Ierne Island at the start of Turn 37. She has two children, both of whom are fostered at Southern Weyr and show great potential to Impress one day, but has never felt inclined to settle down with one man rather than another.
