MASTER HARPER TEBODE

Persona : Tebode
Writing Status : NPC/Free
Age : 30
Gender : Male
Rank/Craft : Master Harper
Craft Specialty : Music composition and drums
Residence : Thread's End HarperCraft Hall

Physical Description : Tebode is broad of shoulder and narrow of waist with thickly muscled thighs from swimming. He has short tousled medium brown hair and klah brown eyes under straight brows. He has a rather rectangular face. He has no discernable scars or marks. He is rather more plain than handsome. He would be 6 feet in height in current Terran terms.

Personality : Tebode is a bit moody. He can be quite enjoyable to be around but he can be very possessive and needy at times too. Strangely, he is a very good harper and very understanding and empathetic with his students. Tebode is a very intelligent, very capable man. His mind is always filled with music, which makes him seem preoccupied most of the time, though he is always aware of his surroundings on some level of consciousness, sometimes eerily so. He has a sharp sense of humor, though his students rarely would agree that he is anything more then a grump and a pompous taskmaster. When older students with a gift for music composition come to his attention, he dedicates as much of his time as possible to cultivating their gift; in his opinion there are never enough people to help properly pass on the history of Pern through music. When dealing with adults, Tebode is a pleasant man to be around, sharing intelligent conversation and telling jokes, which can become quite lewd if he has had too much wine.

Life Story : Born in Fort Hold, Tebode grew up with a Harper father. He followed in his footsteps as soon as his talent for creating bits of complicated songs out of his head and creating fantastic rhythmic accompaniments to them was recognized. He was apprenticed straight to the Hall in both drums and music composition. He was brilliant at his studies and quickly moved through his apprenticeship to walk the tables, though his drums came along more slowly than his composing did. During his Journeying, he met many people, quickly making a name for himself around the northern countryside. Not only could he compose large works to be performed at the Harper Hall functions, but the Teaching Ballads and the historical songs he created stuck with people well after he had moved on. He had nearly completed his mastery when the call from the southern Harper Hall reached him. They needed a Music Composition Master. Having nothing to hold him in the north, he wrote the Hallmaster about the position. He has taught as a journeyman for the last few months preparing for his Master exams. Upon completing them, he took over Music Composition at Thread's End HarperCraft Hall.
