Physical Description : U'num is tall, about 6ft, and slight. He has difficulty standing straight due to his injuries, and often slumps to the left. He is missing his left eye and ear, and the entire left side of his face is scarred badly. His left shoulder and arm are latticed with scars, and he cannot move the arm quickly, nor raise above his head. His left leg has permanent muscle damage--he will forevermore walk painfully with a pronounced limp.

Personality : A young man cut down in his prime, U'num is a very bitter person. He dreamt all his life of fighting Thread, and he feels Thread has ended his life. Only Logoeth's prodding has kept him from severe depression. Once U'num decided to live, he could think of no other place to go than SDH. He figures, if he's going to live the rest of his life broken, he should do so in the place that broke him. He keeps mostly to himself, aside from twice a month visits to the infirmary, but takes his duty as Watchrider very seriously. He is, in a perverse way, very grateful to be able to do anything at all.

Life Story : U'num Impressed young at TEW, his first time on the sands. His father was a brownrider, his mother a journeywoman something--he's not sure. She left him with a foster mother and continued Journeying. The Weyr raised him, his father made time for him when the rider could, and Unainum was a happy child. He had no other interests than riding--his father was a rider, and that was good enough for him. It was no surprise to anyone when he was Searched, and he Impressed his first time on the sands. Weyrling life went smoothly, and U'num graduated with the rest of his class into the fighting wings. During his fourth Turn as a full rider, U'num was flying with the lower wings. When a thick fog obscured Threadfall over Sonnette's Dawn in T35, M8, U'num and his blue Logoeth took a clump they couldn't see. A quick turn by Logoeth prevented them from getting hit head-on, but their injuries were extensive and life-threatening. After many months in the infirmary, during which time he learned how to walk and see and hear all over again, U'num asked for and was granted the position of Watchrider at SDH. He came to the hold in T36 M3, and transferred to Thread's End Hold in T38, M8.

Dragon's Description : A long, lanky, sapphire blue, Logoeth too bears the scars of the Fog Fall. The left side of his neck and his left flank are a mess of knotted scar tissue, and the fact that the clumb missed his wings entirely is scarcely to be believe, then or now. Logoeth displays a premature greying of the muzzle as well.

Dragon's Personality : For Logoeth, the Fog Fall is something he'd rather forget, and would, if it did not plague his rider's dreams every night. Once a rather noisy, social dragon, Logoeth saves his energy now for his rider. One might say the blue has become pragmatic. He is fiercely determined to be as good a watchpair as any might want. He is still useful, as is his rider. If only his rider would believe....
