Physical Description : X'dren is a deeply tanned, tall, solidly built man with strength built from turns spent both at the forge as a Smith and turns of dragonriding. His hair is dark brown, cropped short, with flecks of gray that can be seen in bright light. His eyes are a hazel bordering on almost gold color. His turns in the Smithcraft hall and as a dragonrider have given him a particularly sober look.

Personality : X'dren is a thoughtful man who will speak his mind when he thinks it will be most effective. He'll keep another's counsel so long as it does not endanger themselves or others. Above all, X'dren takes his dragon and his responsibilities seriously. When amused he's more apt to give a slight smile and soft laugh. He sincerely hopes as a dragonrider he can make a difference in the lives of others on Pern by keeping them safe from Thread.

Life Story : Xadren was born to a Smithcrafter and his spouse at Smithcraft Hall within Telgar Hold. From a young age he watched his father at the forge, and when he was old enough, picked up the scarred leather apron and hammer of a Smith and began to learn the craft. He officially became a Smithcraft apprentice at the age of 12 and succeeded in walking the tables to become a Journeyman at the age of 17. For the next several turns he worked in the Smithcraft hall, learning all the techniques that he could. He was espoused to a young woman, Isifani from a minor hold under Telgar's jurisdiction and they had a young son, Iadren.

When Xadren was 25, he was unexpectedly searched for a clutch on the sands at Telgar Weyr. Completely flabbergasted, Xadren stood on the sands with other candidates some turns younger than he and expected to be left standing and return to his life at the Smithcraft Hall. Indeed, all but three of the eggs had hatched when Aconith burst from his shell and made directly for Xadren, sanding on the sands with his mouth hanging open in surprise and shock. That shock faded quickly when he heard Aconith's voice sound in his head. He did experience some regrets in leaving Isifani at the Smithcraft hall, but she encouraged him in his Impression. While the romance between the two of them faded, they remained friends. X'dren was pleased to be a witness, a few turns later, when Isifani re-espoused another holder at Telgar.

After several turns at Telgar Weyr, X'dren transferred south to Threads End Weyr. After a few months at Thread's End Weyr, X'dren was surprised when he was promoted to the position of Wingleader of Upper Flight Right Fore when the previous Wingleader transferred to another Weyr.

Physical Dragon : Aconith is a solidly built creature, like his rider. As a bronze he has a good deal of strength and stamina during Threadfall. He is not the largest bronze in the Weyr and this doesn't seem to bother him in the slightest.

Dragon's Personality: Aconith's most distinctive personality trait is his levelheadedness. Even during odder Thread Falls, he doesn't lose his cool, taking his cue from X'dren and the other dragons in his wing. He works well with the other bronzes and browns, maintain the strong fighting force of the wing, and not particularly looking to seek any glory, only to perform his duty.

Pet Description : Ifi, so named by X'dren's son Iadren, is a small brown firelizard that takes himself entirely too seriously. He often scolds green and blue firelizards for their antics and will sit in a huff on X'dren's shoulder when they don't listen to him. Through intensive training, X'dren has managed to get Ifi to deliver messages with fair reliability, though sometimes they will arrive a few hours after X'dren intended for them to.
