Physical Description : The main impression people first get of Yarigi is his sheer size; he's not only tall but broad. None of his size is fat, either; he works hard and is extremely strong. He's tanned because of his farm work, and moved surprisingly gracefully for such a large person.

Personality : Yarigi is a very quiet person who desires nothing more than to fade into the background and to be allowed to get on with whatever work is at hand. He enjoys his farmcraft work, finding great satisfaction in it; he's a patient sort who is happy to wait a season or two to see how something turns out.

Life Story : Singing Stones is only a recently established hold, some way east of Ierne Island Weyr. With a competent Master Farmer at the hold, Yarigi is working his apprenticeship there, as are several others. He has always been interested in the farming craft; it being his father's occupation, he's been in the fields as long as he can remember, and he joined the craft formally as soon as he could. The notion of moving south never really occurred to him until the establishment of Singing Stones hold, but when a Master Farmer of his acquaintance announced the need for people to move to the new hold, Yarigi gave it some thought, and decided the time had come to experience something new in the south.

After being there for a turn and a half, Yarigi was searched for Sinevath's clutch. Never having seen himself as dragonrider material, and never having so much as wished to be searched, he was surprised when a dragon picked him out to stand as a candidate; he decided to go to the Weyr only reluctantly, believing it to be a waste of time.
