In the early Turns of the Ninth Pass, four hard working Telgar Plains-born men - brothers Sempere and Carisus, and cousins Zephyre and Julben - decided to combine their resources and relocate to the Southern Continent. They spent months in planning and even longer in recruiting, looking for those that had the courage to try to make a new life in an unknown land. When at last the four felt ready to venture forth, they took with them established builders, miners, smiths, farmers, vintners, herders and weavers.
Thread's End Hold was officially named and established in the spring of Turn 13 of the present Pass.
Sempere, the eldest, was a natural leader. By consensus, he was presented to Conclave and confirmed as the Hold's first Lord Holder. Zephyre, the organizer, assumed the role of Steward. Carisus and Julben worked equally hard, willingly taking minor roles to ensure the success of the Hold. Gradually, as the Turns passed, the Hold garnered a name for itself with goods provided by Weaver Hall, by breeding runners and herdbeasts, and by it's full-bodied, flavorful wines.
In Turn 35, tragedy struck when Lord Sempere was killed in a runner accident. Recommendations were sought and Conclave confirmed Carisus to Hold. Julben made the decision to leave, moving first to Dolphin Hall and then later to the newly built Green Ridge Hold to become Steward. Zephyre, after a personal tragedy, made his decision to leave. He went to Thread's End Harper Hall where he decided to follow in his father's footsteps and become a harper.
